Slope of a line passing through two points (x1, y1) and (x2, y2)

m   =   (y2 - y1) / (x2 - x1)

Subsitute (x1, y1) = (-1, -1) and (x2, y2) = (2 , 2) in above equation

m   =   [ 2 - (-1) ] / [ 2 - (-1) ]

m   =   [ 2 + 1 ] / [ 2 + 1 ]

m   =   3 / 3

m   =   1

The Slope of a line  is m  =  1.
