Given points are (2, 6) and (-6, -10)

Let (x1, y1) = (2, 6) and (x2, y2) = (-6, -10)

Two Points Form of Line Equation is (y - y1)  =  [ (y2 - y1) / (x2 - x1) ] (x - x1)

Substitute (x1, y1) = (2, 6) and (x2, y2) = (-6, -10)

(y - 6)  =  [ (-10 - 6) / (-6 - 2)] (x - 2)

(y - 6)  =  [ (-16) / (-8)] (x - 2)

(y - 6)  =  [ 16 / 8] (x - 2)

(y - 6)  =  2 (x - 2)

(y - 6)  =  2x - 4

y  =  2x - 4 + 6

y  =  2x + 2

Answer :

The equation of line is y  =  2x + 2.
