The points are (- 4, 5) and (2, 3).

Slope formula :  m = (y₂ - y₁)/(x₂ - x₁)

Substitute the values of (x₁, y₁) = (- 4, 5) , (x₂, y₂) = (2, 3) in (m) = (y₂ - y₁)/(x₂ - x₁).

= (3 - 5)/(2 + 4)

= (- 2)/(6)

= - 1/3.

Slope of the line is - 1/3.

slope = difference in y-coordinates / difference in x - coordinates

slope = ( 5 - 3 ) / ( - 4 - 2)

slope = 2 / -6 = -1/3
