Let given points are

Equation of a line through the two points is

Cross multiplication.

2y - 4 = - x  + 2

Add 4 to each side.

2y  = - x  + 2 + 4

2y  = - x + 6

Divide each side by 2.

2y / 2  = -x / 2 + 6 / 2

Required line equation y  = -x / 2 + 3.
