11)

f(x) =-sqrt(x-2)+5

f(3) =-sqrt(3-2)+5=-sqrt(1)+5=-1+5=4

f(11) =-sqrt(11-2)+5=-sqrt(9)+5=-3+5=2

Calculate the average rate of change.

[f(11)-f(3)]/(11-3) =(2-4)/(8)=-2/8=-1/4

-----------------------------

12)

f(x) =-x^3+6x^2+x

f(1) =-(1)^3+6(1)^2+1 =-1+6+1=6

f(6) =-(6)^3+6(6)^2+6 =-216+216+6=6

Calculate the average rate of change.

[f(6)-f(1)]/(6-1) =(6-6)/(5)=0
