Suppose  H(t)=√(3t+2)  What is the average rate of change of H(t) with respect to t as t changes from 2 to 2.01 ?

Given H(t) = √(3t+2)

H(2) = √(3*2+2)

= √8

= 2.82

H(2.01) = √(3*2.01+2)

= √6.03+2

= √8.03

= 2.833

Formula for average rate of change = [f(b)-f(a)]/[b-a]

Average rate of change = [H(2.01)-H(2)]/[2.01-2]

= (2.833-2.82)/0.01

= 0.013/0.01

= 1.3
