Given function f(x) = 2x^3+5

a = -3, b = 6

f(-3) = 2(-3)^3+5

= 2(-27)+5

= -54+5

= -49

f(6) = 2(6)^3+5

= 2(216)+5

= 432+5

= 437

Average rate of change = (f(b)-f(a))/(b-a)

= [437-(-49)]/(6-(-3))

= (437+49)/(6+3)

= 486/9

= 54
