Say the points (x1,y1) = (3,4)

(x2,y2) = (-1,-4)

Line equation is y-y1 = [(y2-y1)/(x2-x1)]/(x-x1)

y-4 = [(-4-4)/(-1-3)]/(x-3)

y-4 = -8/-4(x-3)

y-4 = 2(x-3)

y-4 = 2x-6

Add 4 to each side.

y-4+4 = 2x-6+4

y = 2x-2

Line equation to given points is y = 2x-2.
