Parabola vertex form is y = a(x-h)^2+k

Given (h,k) = (3,3)

(x,y) = (1,-9)

Now find a

-9 = a(1-3)^2+3

-9 = a(-2)^2+3

-9 = 4a+3

Subtract 3 from each side.

-9-3 = 4a+3-3

-12 = 4a

Divide to each side by 4.

-12/4 = 4a/4

-3 = a

Parabol vertex form is y = a(x-h)^2+k
