Triangle area = 1/2*b*h

Here b = base ,h =height.

According to the given problem 408 =1/2*b*17

408 = 17b/2

Multiple to each side by 2.

408*2 = 17b/2*2

816 = 17b

Divide to each side by 17.

816/17 = 17b/17

48 = b

Base length of given triangle = 48 inches.
