Direct variation equation is y = kx.

Given straight line equation is 2x+5y = 0

Subtract 2x from each side.

2x-2x+5y = -2x+0

5y = -2x

Divide to each side by 5.

5y/5 = (-2/5)x

y = (-2/5)x

Constant variation is k = -2/5.
