Elimination method

First equation 3x +2y  = 17

Multiple to each side by negitve 2.

-6x -4y  = -34 ---> (1)

Second equation 2x +5y  = 26

Multiple to each side by 3.

6x +15y  = 78 ---> (2)

To eliminate the x  value add the (1)&(2).

-6x -4y  = -34

6x +15y  = 78

________________

11y  = 44

Divide to each side by 11.

y  = 4

Substitute the y  value in (2).

6x +60 = 78

Subtract 60 from each side.

6x  = 18

Divide to each side by 6.

x  = 3

Solution x  = 3, y  = 4.
