The question is divide the following: (x² - 3x + 7) ÷ (x – i)

I believe this is suppose to by synthetic Division but I'm not sure how to use the i?

Solve by using synthetic division

Here the divisor is image.

So, image

Now take coefficients of the polynomial and the value of x as follows

Write zero under the coefficient of image and add up to 1 and place at the down.

Now multiply the 1 with divisor and place under image and add up to image.

Repeat the process

image                       (i^2= -1)

The quotient is , image and remainder is image .

The solution is image
