The equation is 1/3 p - 5 = 1/4 p

Subtract 1/4 p from each side.

1/3 p - 5 - 1/4 p = 1/4 p - 1/4 p

1/3 p - 1/4 p - 5 = 0

Add 5 to each side.

1/3 p - 1/4 p - 5 + 5 = 0 + 5

1/3 p - 1/4 p = 5

L.C.M of 3, 4 is 12.

(4p - 3p) / 12 = 5

p/12 = 5

Mutiply each side by 12.

p = 12 * 5

p = 60.

The solution of p is 60.
