Let required number = x

2 / 3 of the number = 2x / 3

2x / 3 = 30

Multiply each side by 3.

(2x / 3)3 = 30*3

2 = 90

Divide each side by 2.

2x / 2 = 90/2

x  = 45

Twice of the number is 2 * 45 = 90.

1/3 of twice the number = 1 / 3 * 90 = 30.

Let x be the required number.

The word " of  " represent the multiplication opration and its symbol is " x ".

The word " is " means equal and its symbol is " = ".

The word " 2/3 of the number x is 30" represent the equation is " (2/3)x = 30 ".

Multiply each side by 3/2.

(2/3)x (3/2)= 30(3/2)

Cancel common terms.

x = 45.

The word " 1/3 of twice the number x " represent the expression is " (1/3)2x  ".

=> (1/3)2x  = 2x/3 = 2(45)/3 = 90/3 = 30.
