Algebra : 2x + 4 = 5x - 14?

2x + 4 = 5x - 14

Add 14 to each side.

2x + 18 = 5x.

Subtract 2x from each side.

18 = 3x

Divide each side by 3.

6 = x

Therefore the value of x is 6.
