y = 24 - 3x.

6x - 48 + 6x = 24

12x - 48 = 24

12x = 24 + 48

12x = 72

→ x = 72/12 = 6.

Substitute the value x = 6 in y = 24 - 3x, and solve for y.

y = 24 - 3(6)

y = 24 - 18

→ y = 6.
