The factors of the 4   :   1 , 2 , 4

The factors of the 22 :    1 , 2 , 11 , 22

The Greatest common factor (GCF) of two numbers 4 and 22 : 2

Formula is LCM * GCF = The product of numbers

Substitute GCF = 2 and the numbers are 4 , 22

LCM * 2 = 4 * 22

Divide each side by 2

Therefore LCM = (4 * 22) / 2

LCM = 44

The least common multiple (LCM) = 44

List the prime factor of each number

22 = 2 x 11 = 21 x 111

4 = 2 x 2 = 22

multiply the highest power in either factorization.

LCM = 22 * 111 = 44

least common multiple of 22 and 4 is 44
