The function is y = 5x²+20x-6

Now we need to convert the function into y = a(x-p)²+q,

Add six on both sides

y + 6 = 5x²+20x

y + 6 = 5(x²+4x)

Now we add and subtract the term  is (half of the Coefficient of x)² = (4/2)² = 4

y + 6 = 5(x²+4x +4 -4)

y + 6 + 5*4 = 5(x²+4x +4)

y + 6 + 20 = 5(x²+4x +4)

y + 26 = 5(x+2)²

y = 5(x+2)² - 26

y = 5(x - (-2))² +( - 26).

Therefore the above equation is in the form of y = a(x-p)²+q where a=5, p = -2 and q = -26.

Therefore the equation y = 5x²+20x-6 is represented as y = 5(x+2)² - 26.
