a)

The radical expression is √(120)/√(10)

{Apply the radical property √(ab) = √a √b where a ≥ 0 and b ≥ 0}

= √(12*10)/√(10)

= [√(12)√(10)]/√(10)

= √(12)

= √(4*3)

= √43

= 2√3

√(120)/√(10) = 2√3.

b)

The radical expression is [8√(24)]/(2√3)

= [4√(24)]/√3

{Apply the radical property √(ab) = √a √b where a ≥ 0 and b ≥ 0}

= [4√(4*6)]/√3

= [4√4√6]/√3

= [4(2)√(3*2)]/√3

= [8√3√2)]/√3

= 8√2

[8√(24)]/(2√3) = 8√2.

c)

The radical expression is [6√(45x5)]/[8√(5x3)]

= [6√(9*5*x5)]/[8√(5x3)]

{Apply the radical property √(ab) = √a √b where a ≥ 0 and b ≥ 0}

= [6√9√(5x5)]/[8√(5x3)]

{Apply the exponent property am+n = (am)(an)}

= [6(3)√(5x3x2)]/[8√(5x3)]

= [18√(5x3)√(x2)]/[8√(5x3)]

= [18√(x2)]/8

= (18x)/8

= (9x)/4

[6√(45x5)]/[8√(5x3)] = (9x)/4.
