7)

Slope-intercept form line equation is y = mx + b, where m is slope and b is y-intercept.

Let the points are (x₁, y₁) = (2, 3) and (x₂, y₂) = (4, 7).

Slope (m) = [(y₂ - y₁)/(x₂ -x₁)]

m = [(7 - 3)/(4 - 2)]

m  = [4/2]

m = 2.

Now, the line equation is y = 2x + b.

Find the y - intercept by substituting any point in the line equation say (x, y) = (2, 3).

3 = (2)(2) + b

b = 3 - 4

b = -1.

The line equation in slope - intercept - form is y = 2x - 1

Option A is correct .

8) The intercepts are (1, 0) (0, 4)

x intercpt is 1 and y intercept is 4.

The equation of a line with x, y intercepts is x/a + y/b = 1

Where a is x intercept and b is y intercept.

a = 1 and b = 4

So the line is x/1 + y/4 = 1

(4x + y)/4 = 1

4x + y = 4

y = - 4x + 4

Option B is correct.

9) The equation 3x + 8y - 36 = 0

(x, 3/4) is solution

Substitute for (x, y) = (x, 3/4) in equation

3x + 8(3/4) - 36 = 0

3x + 6 - 36 = 0

3x - 30 = 0

3x = 30

x = 10

Option d is correct.

11)

Equation of a line in point - slope form is y - y₁ = m (x - x₁)

Substitute for (x₁, y₁) = (5, - 2)  and m = -1/3 in above equation.

y - (- 2) = - 1/3(x - 5)

y + 2 = - 1/3(x - 5)

Option B is correct.

 The airplane climbs 15 feet for every 40 feet it move forward.

So the first order pair is (15, 40)

And the next order pair is (30, 80)

(x₁, y₁) = (15, 40) and (x₂, y₂) = (30, 80)

Slope (m) = [(y₂ - y₁)/(x₂ -x₁)]

= (80 - 40)/(30 - 15)

= 40/15

= 8/3

Slope of the airplane ascent = 8/3.
