Divide the first term of the dividend by the first term of the divisor ax/α = a/α.

So,the first term of the quotient is a/α. Multiply (αx + β) by (a/α) and subtract.

Quotient is a/α and remainder is (-aβ/α)+ b.

The result of the division is (ax + b)/(αx + β) = (a/α) + [(-aβ/α) + b]/(αx + β).

(ax + b)/(αx + β) = (a/α)(αx + β) + [(-aβ/α)+ b].
