From the given data 15 cards are numbered 1 through 15.

There are 7 even cards and 8 odd cards.

Lets consider the ordered samples.

A card is selected and replaced, then a second card is selected.

For the event to select the first card as an even : 7/15.

For the event to select the second card as an odd : 8/15.

The probability = (7/15) * (8/15)

= 56 /225

= 0.2488.

Therefore, the probability the first is even and the second is odd is 0.2488.
