A rectangular area formula  = 2(l × w) + 2 (L × h) + 2 (w × h)

where l = lenght, w = width and h = height.

Here base(w) = x, lenghts = x + 3 and height = 2x

The area is A = 2[(x + 3) × (x)] + 2 [(x + 3) × (2x)] + 2 [(x) × (2x)]

A = 2[x2 + 3x] + 2 [2x2 + 6x] + 2 (2x2)

A = 2x2 + 6x + 4x2 + 12x + 4x2

A = 10x2 + 18x

A rectangular volume formula V = L x W x H

V = (x + 3) × (x) × (2x)

V = (x + 3) × (2x2)

V = 2x3 + 6x2

Therefore area A = 10x2 + 18x and volume V = 2x3 + 6x2
