The system of equations

3x + 8y   =   2---------------------------------------> (1)

7x + 3y   =   1------------------------------.....> (2)

Eq (1) X 7 ===>    21x + 56y   =   14

Eq (2) X 3 ===>    21x + 9y     =   3

Subtraction          (-)     (-)           (-)

                     ------------------------------------------

                              0 + 47y   =   11

                                       y   =   11/47

Substitute y = 11/47 in equation (1)

 3x + 8(11/47)   =   2

3x   =   2 - (88/47)

3x   =   (94 - 88) / 47

3x   =   6/47

x   =   6/ [(3)(47)]

x   =   2/ 47

The solution is x = 2/47 and y = 11/ 47.
