Given solutions are 1 and -5/2

Then the quadratic equation

(x - 1)(x + 5/2)  =  0

x^2 + (5x)/2 -x - (5/2)  =  0

Multiply with 2 on each side

2x^2 + 5x -2x - 5  =  0

2x^2 + 3x - 5  =  0

Answer :

2x^2 + 3x - 5  =  0
