Given equation 3x^2+6x-24 = 0

Compare it to quadratic form ax^2+bx+c = 0

a = 3, b = 6, c = -24

Roots are x = [-b±√(b^2-4ac)]/2a

x = [-6±√(36+288)]/6

x = [-6±√324]/6

x = [-6±18]/6

x = [-6+18]/6 and x = [-6-18]/6

x = 12/6 and x = -24/6

x = 2 and x = -4

Roots of 3x^2+6x-24 = 0 are 2,-4.
