The equation is y=(1/ 3 )x+5

The given line is in the form of y=mx+C

Slope of the given line is 1/ 3

The slope of the perpendicular line is, m = -1/(1/3)=-3

The given point is (x1,y1) = (2,1).

The equation of perpendicular line is,

y-y1=m(x-x1)

y-1 = -3(x-2)

y-1 = -3x+6

Add 1 to both sides

y-1+1=-3x+6+1

y=-3x+7

Therefore,equation of the perpendicular line is y=-3x+7

Option (B) is the correct
