1. -4|b-2|-9=-37

Add 9 to each side.

-4|b-2|=-28

Divide each side by -4.

|b-2|=7

Remove absolute value brackets by writing the two equations.

(b-2)=7 and -(b-2)=7

(b-2)=7

Add 2 to each side.

b = 9

-(b-2)=7

b-2=-7

Add 2 to each side.

b = -5

 2. -3|9m+2|+10=10

 subtract 10 from each side.

 -3|9m+2|=0

 9m+2 = 0

 m = -2/9
