Elimination mehod

Given equations are 6x+3y = -12 ---------> (1)

6x+2y = -4 ---------> (2)

To eliminate the x value,subtract equation (2) from (1).

6x+3y = -12

6x+2y = -4

(-) (-)   (+)

_________

y = -8

Substitue the y value in (1).

6x+3*-8 = -12

6x-24 = -12

6x-24+24 = 12+24

6x = 12

6x/6 = 12/6

x = 2

Solution x =2, y =-8.
