The equation is √(2x2 + 5) = 4.

Squaring on bboth sides we get,

2x2 + 5 = 4

2x2 = 4 - 5

2x2 = -1

x2 = -1/2

x = √(-1/2)

x = ± i / √2

x = ± 0.70711i

The solution is x = ± 0.70711i.
