x(3x - 8) = 3x2 - 9x + 6

Combine like terms using distributive property: ab + ac = a( b + c)

x(3x) - x(8) = 3x2 - 9x + 6

3x2 - 8x = 3x2 - 9x + 6

Subtract 3x2 from each side.

- 8x = - 9x + 6

Add 9x to each side.

x = 6.
