The equation is l 2x+5 / x-1 l = 3

Case 1:

2x + 5 / x -1 = 3

2x + 5= 3(x -1)

2x +5 = 3x - 3

x = 8.

Case 2:

2x + 5/ x -1 = - 3

2x + 5= -3(x -1)

2x +5 = -3x +3

5x = -2 => x =- 2 /5.

Hence the values of x are 8 , - 2 / 5 .
