Standard form of the equation is ax²+bx+c = 0

2x² -12 + 2x = ( x - 2) +2

 2x² -12 + 2x = x - 2 + 2

 2x² -12 + 2x = x

Subtract x from each side.

 2x² -12 + 2x - x = x - x

 2x² -12 + x = 0

 2x² + x -12  = 0

The standard form is  2x² + x -12  = 0
