TV Screen is in rectangular shape

Let width = b

Height = 0.75b = (3/4)b

Diagonal = d

From pythogorean law

d^2  =  h^2 + b^2

32^2  =  (3b/4)^2 + b^2

1024  =  (9b^2)/16 + b^2

1024  =  b^2[ (9/16) + 1 ]

1024  =  b^2 [ (9 + 16) / 16 ]

1024  =  b^2 (25/16)

(1024 X 16) / 25  =  b^2

b^2  =  (1024 X 16) / 25

Apply square root to each sied

b  =  sqrt [ (1024 X 16) / 25 ]

b  =  (32 X 4)/5

b  = 25.6

Answer :

Width of the TV is 25.6 inches.
