Given polynomial is 8x^2-13x-6

8x^2-16x+3x-6 = 0

8x(x-2)+3(x-2)= 0

(8x+3)(x-2) = 0

8x+3 = 0                                      and                              x-2 = 0

Subtract 3 from each side.                                Add 2 to each side.

8x+3-3 = 0-3                                                             x-2+2 = 0+2

8x = -3                                                                          x = 2

Divide to each side by 8

8x/8 = -3/8

x = -3/8 and x = 2
