Graph the linear equation by using slope-intercept method :

The equation 3x + 2y = 4.

Write the above equation in slope-intercept form y = mx + b, where m is slope and b is y-intercept.

Subtract 3x from each side.

3x + 2y -3x = 4 - 3x

2y =  -3x + 4

Divide each side by 2.

(2y)/2 =  (-3x)/2 + 4/2

y =  (-3/2)x + 2

Slope : m = -3/2 and y-intercept : b = 2.

y-intercept is 2, so the line crosses the y-axis at (0, 2)

Using slope find the next point.

Slope = rise/run = -3/2

Start at point (0, 2), move 3 units down (2-3=-1) and 2 units right (0+2=2), then plot the point (2, -1).

Draw a line through these points.

Graph :
