Graph the linear equation by using slope-intercept method :

The equation x - y = 2.

Write the above equation in slope-intercept form y = mx + b, where m is slope and b is y-intercept.

Now the equation is y = x - 2.

Slope : m = 1 and y-intercept : b = -2.

y-intercept is -2, so the line crosses the y-axis at (0, - 2)

Using slope find the next point.

Slope = rise/run = 1/1

Start at point (0, -2), move 1 units up (-2+1=-1) and 1 unit right (0+1=1), then plot the point (1, -1).

Draw a line through these points.

Graph :

graph for the equation - x - 2y = 8
