Given line 4x+2y = 12

To find y intercept substitute x = 0 in line equation.

4(0)+2y = 12

2y = 12

Divide to each side by2.

y = 6

y-intercept is 6.

Slope-intercept form line equation is y = mx + b, where m is slope and b is y-intercept.

The equation is 4x + 2y = 12.

Write the equation in slope - intercept - form.

2y = - 4x + 12

y = (- 4/2)x + (12/2)

y = - 2x + 6.

Compare the equation with slope - intercept - form line equation.

y - intercept is 6.
