Given equation 3bx + 9 = 4(3x - b) + 2

Combine like terms uisng distributive property.

3bx + 9 = 12x - 4b + 2

Subtract 12 from each side.

3bx -12x +9 = 12x -12x - 4b +2

3bx - 12x + 9 = - 4b + 2

Subtract 9 from each side.

3bx -12x + 9 - 9 = - 4b + 2 - 9

3bx -12x  = - 4b - 7

Take out common x .

x (3b -12) = - 4b - 7

Divide each side by 3b - 12.

x (3b - 12)/(3b - 12) = (- 4b -7)/(3b - 12)

Solution x  = (- 4b - 7)/(3b - 12).
