The equation y = 3x2 + 8x - 5

Compare it to standad form of parabola y = ax2  + bx + c

a = 3, b = 8, c = - 5

Axis of symmetry x = -b/2a

x = -8/2(3)

x = -8/6

x = -4/3

Axis of symmetry is x = -4/3.
