Given m = -3/7

y intercept = -5

Equation of the line slope intercept form is y = mx+b

y = (-3/7)x+(-5)

y = -(3/7)x-5

  • Slope - intercept - form of a line equation is y = mx + b, where m is slope, and b is y - intercept

Slope (m ) = - 3/7.

y - intercept (b ) = -  5.

Now the line equation is y = (- 3/7)x - 5.

  • y - intercept is - 5, so the line crosses the y - axis at (0, - 5).

    Using slope find the next point.

    Slope = rise/run = - 3/7.

    Start at point (0, - 5), move 3 units down and 7 units right, then plot the point (7, - 8).

    Draw a line through these points.
