Line eqution is y-y1 = m(x-x1)

Given point (x1,y1) = (4,-1)

m = -1/2

y-(-1) = -1/2(x-4)

y+1 = -x/2+2

Subtract 1 from each side.

y+1-1 =-x/2+2-1

y = -x/2+1

y = (-1/2)x+1

Compare the slope intercept form y = mx+b

y = (-1/2)x+1

y intercept = 1

The slope (m ) = - 1/2 and the point is (4, - 1).

Slope - intercept - form of a line equation is y = mx + c, where, m is slope and c is y - intercept.

Substitute the values of m = - 1/2 and (x, y ) = (4, - 1) in slope - intercept - form of a line equation : y = mx + c.

- 1 = (- 1/2)(4) + c

- 1 = - 2 + c

y - intercept (c ) = - 1 + 2 = 1.

Substitute the values of m = - 1/2 and c = 1 in slope - intercept - form of a line equation : y = mx + c.

y = (- 1/2)x + 1.

Therefore, slope - intercept - form of a line equation is y = (- 1/2)x + 1.
