please explain how to write the equation of this line in standard form

Given equation is f(x) = -2x^2-x+4

Compare it to standerd form of parabola is y = ax^2+bx+c.

Here a = -2, b = -1, c = 4

Now f(-2) = -2(-2)^2-(-2)+4

= -2*4+2+4

= -8+6

f(-2) = -2
