let width of rectangle b = x

Then the length of rectangle l = 2x

Perimeter of rectangle = 2(l+b)

Given p = 60

60 = 2(x+2x)

60 = 2(3x)

60 = 6x

Divide to each side by 6.

60/6 = 6x/6

10 = x

Width of a rectangle = 10cm

Length of rectangle = 2*10 = 20 cm
