Standard form of equaion is ax+by = c

Giiven equation is y = 5/3x-6/8

Add 6/8 to each side.

y+6/8 = 5/3x-6/8+6/8

y+6/8 = 5/3x

Subtract 5/3x from each side.

y+6/8-5/3x = 5/3x-5/3x

y+6/8-5/3x = 0

y+3/4+5/3x = 0

Least common multiple of 3,4 is 12.

(12y+9+20x)/12 = 0

Divide to each sidie by 12.

12(12y+9+20x)/12 = 0/12

12y+9+20x = 0

Subract 9 from each side.

12y+9-9+20x = 0-9

12y+20x = -9

20x+12y = -9

Compare standard form of equation.

a = 20, b = 12, c = -9.
