Given point say (x1,y1) = (-3,-1)

Line equation is y = x+3

Slope of the given line say m1 = 1

Perpendicular line slope say m2 is be = -1

Required line equation is y+1 = -1(x+3)

y+1 = -x-3

Subtract 1 From each side.

y+1-1 = -x-3-1

y = -x-4

Required line equation is y = -x-4
