Given line 4.8x+10y = 5

10y = -4.8x+5

y = -4.8/10+5/10

y = -4.8/10+1/2

Slope of the two lines is m = -0.48

Required line passes through (-4,4)

Required line equation is y-4 = -0.48(x+4)

y-4 = -0.48x-1.92

 y = -0.48x-1.92+4

y = -0.48x+2.08

Graph of the parallel lines 4.8x+10y = 5, y = -0.48x+2.08

Draw a coordinate plane.

Draw the given line equation.

plot the given (-4,4) point.

Draw the parallal ilne.

Slope - intercept - form of a line equation is y = mx + c, where, m is slope and c is y - intercept.

The line 4.8 + 10y  = 5

10y  = -4.8x + 5

The line equation is y  = -0.48x + 0.5.

y -intercept is 0.5, so the line crosses the y -axis at (0, 0.5)

Using slope find the next point.

Slope = rise/run = -4.8/10

Start at point (0, 0.5), move 4.8 units down and 10 units right, then plot the point (10, -4.3).

Draw a line through these points.

We know that parallel lines have equal slope.

Required line slope(m ) = -0.48 and it passes through (-4, 4)

Substitute the values of m = -0.48 and (x, y ) = (-4, 4) in slope - intercept - form of a line equation : y = mx + c.

4 = -0.48(-4) + c

4 = 1.92 + c

c =  2.08

Required line equation is y  = -0.48x + 2.08.

y -intercept is 2.08, so the line crosses the y -axis at (0, 2.08)

Using slope find the next point.

Slope = rise/run = -4.8/10

Start at point (0, 2.08), move 4.8 units down and 10 units right, then plot the point (10, -2.72).

plot the point (-4,4).

Draw a line through these points.
