The slope is - 3 and the point is (0, 3).

  • Slope - intercept - form of a line equation is y = mx + b, where m is slope and b is y - intercept.

Slope (m ) = - 3.

Now, the line equation is y = - 3x + b.

Find the y - intercept by substituting the point in the line equation say (x, y) = (0, 3).

3 = (- 3)(0) + b

b = 3 - 0

b = 3.

The line equation in slope - intercept - form is y = - 3x + 3.

  • NOTE :

    The standard form line equation is Ax + By = C. A shouldn't be negative, A and B shouldn't both be zero, and A, B and C should be integers.

    The equation is y = - 3x + 3.

    Add 3x to each side.

    3x + y = 3.

    The standard form of a line equation is 3x + y = 3.
