Given line is 2 x + d y = 4 and

Slope ( m ) =  - 5

Slope intercept form : y  = m x + b

Where m = slope   by - intercept.

2 x + d y = 4 is convert to the Slope intercept form .

d y = 4 - 2

y = ( 4 - 2 x ) / d

y = 4 / d - ( 2 x / d )

y =  - ( 2 x / d ) + 4 / d

y =  - ( 2 / d ) x + 4 / d.

Slope ( m ) = - 2 / d  and  y - intercept = 4 / d .

Therefore - 2 / d = - 5

- 2 / - 5 = d

2 / 5 = d

d = 2 / 5.

Solution : The value of the d = 2 / 5.
